Trowbridge's annual illuminated carnival procession parades floats, marching bands and fancy dress through the town centre.
The procession assembles on Canal Road and sets off at 7pm, passing through The Down, Islington, Timbrell Street, Union Street, Church Street, Silver Street, Market Street and Castle Street before finishing at Cradle Bridge. It is run by the Trowbridge Carnival Committee, a small independent group of volunteers, as part of the Wessex Grand Prix carnival circuit. Spectators are asked to donate generously along the route to help fund the carnival and support local good causes, and the evening ends with a presentation at the Wesley Road Club from 10pm.
