Shepton Mallet's illuminated carnival procession follows a route through the town from Compton Road to Whitstone Road.
Shepton Mallet Carnival is run by the Shepton Mallet Carnival Committee and features illuminated processions of over 100 entries, from street masqueraders to large decorated carts. The route starts at the junction of the A371 and Compton Road near the Mendip District Council offices, runs along Cannards Grave Road into town, around Collett Park, along the A371 past Shepton Mallet Honda, then onto Commercial Road and Charlton Road before finishing on Whitstone Road. The organisers state that although there is no charge to attend, official collectors take donations along the route which go to support local charities and groups.
Listing via Carnival committee's own website. Always check times and prices with the organiser before travelling.
