Rob Newman asks how to survive oil shocks, chatbots and tech billionaires, with lessons borrowed from history. Ages 14+.
Fresh from his novel Intelligence, Rob Newman offers a survival guide to the century so far. How do we defend ourselves from oil shocks, chatbots and billionaire tech bros, or stop AI using up our water while the water companies pollute the rest? In a quick-fire tour of ideas, from retrofitting towns for the climate to a national maximum wage, he looks at what history can teach us for when the rich and powerful run riot.
The show runs in two halves of about 45 minutes with an interval, and is for ages 14 and up. It starts at 8pm. Tickets are £20 in advance or £24 on the door.
Listing via Marine Theatre. Always check times and prices with the organiser before travelling.
