Illyria stage Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera outdoors in the Tamar Valley, with the gardens open from 5.30pm for picnics.
Illyria, the touring outdoor theatre company, bring Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance to the grounds of Pentillie Castle in the Tamar Valley. The story follows Frederick, apprenticed to a band of soft-hearted pirates, who discovers that being born on 29 February leaves him bound to them for decades longer than he bargained for.
The gardens open at 5.30pm, which leaves time for a picnic before the 7pm start. The show runs about an hour and 40 minutes with a 20 minute interval. It is performed in the open air, so bring camping chairs or cushions, and something warm for later.
Tickets are £20 for adults and £12 for children, and under 3s go free.
