Ilminster's illuminated carnival procession runs through the town centre, part of the South Somerset Federation of Carnivals.
Ilminster Carnival is organised by the Ilminster Carnival Committee and is one of the four towns in the South Somerset Federation of Carnivals, alongside Wellington, Chard and Taunton. The main procession starts at Bay Hill at 7.15pm and continues onto East Street, Silver Street, West Street and Station Road, finishing at the roundabout near The Stonemasons pub. Earlier in the day, on the same Saturday, a separate Children's Carnival takes place at 11.15am on a different route. Collections are taken along the route to support the carnival and local causes.
