Glastonbury's illuminated carnival is one of the largest illuminated processions in the UK and Europe, according to the organisers.
Glastonbury Chilkwell Carnival is organised by Glastonbury Carnival, a company over 170 years old based in Chilton Polden near Bridgwater. The organisers describe it as an illuminated spectacular and among what are widely regarded as the largest illuminated processions in the UK and Europe. The free parade of illuminated carts, walking entries and bands processes through Glastonbury town centre, with the organisers aiming to raise around 30,000 pounds a year through donations to keep the carnival running.
