An afternoon of street entertainment, traders and a laser light show before the Christchurch lights are switched on at 5.45pm.
Christchurch High Street is closed to traffic for the town's Christmas lights event, running from 2.30pm to 6.30pm. There will be Christmas and artisan traders, food and drink, children's entertainers, face painting, jugglers and stilt walkers, with live music through the afternoon near the Mayor's Parlour. A laser light show set to music starts at 5.30pm, followed by the official lights switch on with a countdown at 5.45pm. Live music and street dancing continue from 6pm to 6.30pm. The person switching on the lights has not yet been announced.
