Chard's illuminated carnival procession brings lit floats, music and colour through the town centre.
Chard Carnival is an illuminated procession through the town, part of the wider Somerset carnival tradition of decorated, lit carts, walking entries and marching bands. It is run by the local carnival committee with support from sponsors including the Devon Truck Show. Entries take part in a parade through Chard town centre in the evening. As with other Somerset illuminated carnivals, collections are made along the route in support of local charities and good causes.
