Trumpeter Sam Massey leads a trio through Miles Davis classics, 100 years after Davis was born.
2026 marks a century since Miles Davis was born, and this concert celebrates it with his compositions and pieces associated with his career, including All Blues and Stella by Starlight. Sam Massey, whom the Guardian has called a fine trumpet player, switches between trumpet and flugelhorn for their contrasting sounds, with Philip Clouts on piano and John Donnelly on double bass.
Massey has worked with bandleader Mike Westbrook and Radio 2's Clare Teal, and has recorded with PP Arnold and The Simmertones. It starts at 8pm. Book through Bridport Arts Centre, or call the box office on 01308 424204 for prices.
Listing via Bridport Arts Centre. Always check times and prices with the organiser before travelling.
